Your First Movie!

Have you ever wondered what it's like to make a movie? To be a part of a movie? What goes on behind the scenes of a movie?

This project will introduce students to the movie making world. The students will experience both behind the scenes work, and then watching their completed work. In this WebQuest students will be able to learn interesting things about their favorite movies that they are unaware using the power of the Internet. Career & Life Style Portfolio

This will take you through a step by step process towards life decision making for career and lifestyle choosing. You will explore your talents and interests & match them up with career and future education choices, research a career or college to enter after high school along with resources to find that career/pay for college, and go through the necessary steps to actually get into the college or career of your choice along with putting together a budget that supports the lifestyle you choose to lead. This webquest will introduce the participant to the three different classifications of student mutlimedia projects: embellished documents, linear multimedia presentations, and hypermedia. The webquest will also suggest different types of software tools to generate each.

Writing a Movie Review

When you want to go and see a new film, you may want to read about it first. What is the film about? What actors are in it and who directed it? What did other people think of it? All these questions - and more - can be answered in a review. A review is written by someone who has seen a film and wants to tell other people what he or she thinks about it. New York City & Your Documentary

Students research different neighborhoods and landmarks in NYC, including Harlem, Little Italy, Ellis Island and Times Square/Broadway. From that research groups must present their movie idea to a panel of studio execs. Using a PowerPoint presentation and a storyboard student argue for their movie. Movie Preview

You will be creating a preview for a movie that will never be made.  This will require you to choose a director, a plot, characters, a resolution and then use all of this to create your preview.  Your preview will be no longer than 1:30.  You will not be making this film during your time at this school.  Please keep that in mind and film only for the preview.  Think like a preview editor. Screenwriting 101

To begin writing your original screenplay, open up the Word Processor and a new document.  Formatting can be the most difficult thing when writing a screenplay, but do not let it overwhelm you.  I will not be measuring these with a ruler, so make your best attempt at following the correct format guidelines.
